Now this is what I call wallpaper!
My first attempt at using brushes with fractals. I like how this one turned out.

I think I will be trying out different brushes once in a while. My main focus will still be Apo fractals but, from time to time I might spice one up a bit! :D

I hope you enjoy my wallpapers and please feel free to download and use them any way you see fit. Even for commercial use or personal gain, just mention where you got 'em from, and link back to here please. Or send me a note or comment. Thanks. Enjoy! ;)

Hopelessly addicted to Apophysis3D since June 10 2009!
I have always loved all kinds of wallpaper ever since my first exposure to Win98 in 1998. As soon as I realized what wallpaper was and did, I thought, "that's cool! Now, all I have to do is get better pictures". To me, wallpaper is like sprinkling sugar on a dessert. It just makes it sweeter! It's the first and last thing you see (other than Windows splash screens) every time you turn your computer on or off. It's what you see between closing and opening every program. It's what your friends see every time they come over and ask "Can I surf?" and you say "Sure. Just minimize all the windows." So it might as well be something nice.
By about 2001-2002 I began seeing more and more fractal images in desktop resolutions. I love abstract art of all kinds. Intrigued by the fractals I was collecting, I wondered "what programs are used to make these?" After chasing my tail on the Wild Wild Web for days I finally learned of fractal generators. Back then it was Ultra Fractal, Fractal Extreme (I loved the "Zoom Movie" player) and a Pentium 3. Out of the 100+ wallpapers I made back then, maybe only 3 were good enough that I would think "wow! That almost looks like I downloaded it!". The other 97+ I would think "Ya right! I KNOW I made THAT. I wouldn't waste the time or bandwidth to download THAT!" Then I got a digital camera and my graphical dabblings shifted and I stopped making fractals. Now, I've just discovered Apo3D and I have a quad core. Wooooo freakin hooooo!!! Thank Yoooou SourceForge.net One of the best websites on the internet other than DeviantArt.com, of course. Hats off to all of the developers for sacrificing their time, effort and knowledge for making such an incredible program. God bless 'em! And thank you everyone who created and maintains Apophysis.DeviantArt.com What a perfect place for the creations from such a great program and all the artists who submit them. Kinda like peanut butter and jam! lol! Anyways, as you might notice about my gallery, I like dark backgrounds. Always have. I think dark backgrounds are better because it makes your desktop icons stand out more. Some icons look pretty cool and deserve to stand out. Plus I have a widescreen monitor, hence the widescreen resolutions. Hopefully you will also notice that the newest submissions are not as grainy, scratchy or blocky as my earlier ones. I think I'm slooowly gettin' better. Also note that I always start off with a blank template that I made and I never use the "Mutation" button because if I do, it feels like "I" no longer made the picture and, for me, takes away from the potential satisfaction felt from the end result. Even though a great picture made by someone is still a great picture made by someone and I do not mean to diminish anyone else's work.
Whoops. I'm rambling again. Type-arrhea! lol!
Well, time to go make another flame. Thank you for taking the time to read this. And as always, none of my work is ever signed, stamped, watermarked, etc... You are free to use or display it at your will. However, a little recognition goes a long way! I hope you enjoy my gallery as much as I have enjoyed making it. :)
